The Komet™ is a powerful 60-watt, all tube amplifier. It is not intended as a practice amp, nor will it produce blistering distortion at bedroom volume levels. The amp's breakup sets in at the point of output tube distortion and is therefore naturally related to the playing volume of a live performace situation. At that level the Komet™ will allow you to have clean and crunchy rhythm sounds, as well as a fat, singing lead tone at your command. The clean tone at lower volumes is full and punchy, with all the harmonic complexity and touch responsiveness present. It allows you to use any kind of effects pedal with excellent results. It is completely built by hand. At Komet™ Amplification, we do not use any pre-manufactured parts - there are no printed circuit boards, generic chassis' or flimsy ribbon cable.

The Komet™ 60 HD combines the best of both characteristics of the Komet 60 and Concorde. The HD model transforms the sweet, musical sounding pre amp circuit of the Komet 60: it's versatile output stage capable of using a variety of power tube types, with the stout, solid state rectified power supply of the Concorde. These combinations give the player: higher headroom, a tighter and more modern sounding bottom end, and sparkly cleans at lower volumes which seamlessly transform into a massive wall of overdrive when cranked. As with all Komet amplifiers — pedal friendly, and guitar volume control "roll down" friendly. The HD will also operate on the same variety of power tubes types (EL34, 6CA7, KT77, 6L6, 5881, 7581, KT66) as the standard Komet 60.

The Komet's™ chassis is welded from 1/8" aircraft-grade aluminum for strength, electrical conductivity and non-magnetic properties. Because of its construction and dimensions, problems sometimes associated with this material such as stress cracks and bending, are completely eliminated. Ceramic tube sockets with gold plated contacts are bolted to the chassis with stainless steel screws. The component board is made from 1/8" glass epoxy and hand wired using silver plated Teflon® wire. The potentiometers are completely sealed with stainless steel housings. We use 2 Watt types (0.5 watt is usually standard) for a lifetime of trouble free performance. All electric components in the Komet™ have been carefully selected for their specific performance. The choice of manufacturers and types of components is neither random, nor dictated by price or availablity only tonal quality.
